Obviam
2026 Search Opportunity Report

Invisible nationally.
Already in the pack at home.

We checked 171 keywords covering every service Obviam sells, roughly 158,790 US searches a month once close variants are grouped. obviam.com does not appear in the top twenty for a single one. The Cincinnati map is the exception: on business qualified phrasing Obviam is already in the top three at five points across the metro, best rank 2. That is the position this plan builds on.

00The baseline, dated

Everything in this report is measured against these numbers, taken on 27 August 2026 before any work begins, so month four is compared with a figure rather than an impression. Visits are from Google Analytics on Obviam's own property.

Non brand visits
Not one visit has come from a non brand search. Not this month. In any day Search Console holds data for. 424 different non brand queries put obviam.com in front of searchers 4,467 times and produced 0 clicks.

Stated precisely, because the distinction matters: the property recorded 34 US search visits in that window. Google names the query behind 23 of them and every one of those 23 is the company name. The remaining 11 sit inside queries Google will not name because too few people searched them. So the honest ceiling is that at most 11 visits in the whole window could have come from someone describing what Obviam does, and the 424 named non brand queries produced none.

Put beside the visit numbers above: the site received 404 American visits in the last thirty days and turned 0 of them into a recorded enquiry. Over twelve months, 3,062 US visits and 0 recorded conversions. A firm selling vCISO, penetration testing and compliance into a market of 158,790 searches a month is seen by about 424 Americans a month, roughly 14 a day, and none of them arrived by searching for what it sells.
Two caveats
Search Console only holds 21 days. The property has data from 2026-08-06 to 2026-08-26 and Google does not backfill, so there is no record of how obviam.com performed in search before that date. It is another reason the baseline has to start now.

The visit trend is going the right way. US visits run at 424 a month over the last thirty days against 256 across the year, 66% higher. The blended figure hides it because 63% of the twelve month total came from outside the United States and left in under two seconds. The audience is small, real and growing. Nothing is currently being done with it.
The short version
Obviam sells the right services and ranks for almost none of them. It sells vCISO, penetration testing, compliance and 24/7 monitoring. Across 171 keywords covering all of it, the site reaches the top twenty nationally zero times. Locally, across five metros, it reaches the top fifty zero times. The one place it does appear is the Cincinnati map. There it shows at 42 of 49 measured points on cybersecurity company and reaches the top three at none of them, while on business cybersecurity it reaches the top three at five points, best rank 2. The profile is filed under the generic category Business to business service and carries zero reviews. Category and reviews are two of the strongest local ranking inputs, both are inside Obviam's control, and that is the cheapest kind of gap to close.

One finding sits underneath all of the above. In thirteen months the property has recorded no conversion of any kind, so nobody has been able to see a lead arrive. Section 07.

One exception
Stated for completeness. Checked against the full ranked list rather than the top twenty, obviam.com does rank for one term in this set: vciso, at position 98. It ranks for 29 US keywords in total, and this is the complete list:

Two are the company name and a misspelling of it. Several describe Gartner's research rather than Obviam's services. Three, including crack passwords online and cyberoam company, have no relationship to the business at all. One buying term, vciso at 98, describes something Obviam sells.

Reddit, IBM, CISA, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike and Gartner. Obviam's blog is competing with analyst firms, global vendors and a government agency on informational terms. That contest is not winnable in four months, so it is not this plan. The commercial terms further down this report are.

03The map pack, block by block

For four core terms we searched Google Maps at a 7 by 7 grid of points, 784 searches in total, and recorded where obviam.com landed. Each tile is one search from one location, the way a buyer standing there would see it. Three terms were measured in all five metros. Business cybersecurity was measured in Cincinnati only, added after the sweep in section 05 showed it was the phrasing Obviam already places for.

Uneven
Cincinnati is the whole local story, and it is uneven. Obviam holds 42 of 49 points on cybersecurity company and cybersecurity consulting, and reaches the top three on neither. On business cybersecurity, the same 42 of 49 points, it reaches the top three at five. Same profile, same city, different phrasing. On managed security services it is absent from all 49 points. Pittsburgh, Columbus, Philadelphia and Cleveland return nothing at all, because map presence follows a physical listing and Obviam has one profile.

Strongest position anywhere
On “business cybersecurity” Obviam reaches the top three at five points in the metro, with a best rank of 2 and an average of 6. Measured across a full 49 point grid, that is a materially different picture from the average of 16 on “cybersecurity company”. It is not stuck at fifteen everywhere; on the right phrasing it is already in the pack in parts of the city.

Read the pattern in the table. That is one place outside the three results a buyer sees, and it is the best position Obviam holds anywhere in search.

All 6 of Obviam's top ten placements are buyer shaped phrases: five name the buyer, business cybersecurity, cybersecurity for business, business IT security, commercial cybersecurity and corporate cybersecurity, and the sixth, cyber security consulting firm, names the kind of supplier being shopped for. It does also appear for 8 broader service phrases, including cybersecurity consulting at 11 and IT security consulting at 14, but never above position eleven.

Where it disappears entirely is the named services. Of the terms tested, it is absent for every one of these: penetration testing, vciso, soc 2 compliance, hipaa compliance, incident response, managed detection and response, vulnerability assessment, security awareness training. A profile categorised Business to business service produces exactly that: Google matches the category to “business” queries and has nothing to match against a penetration testing query.

The category is simultaneously earning the business terms and costing the service terms. Correcting it should open the service queries. We would keep the existing business terms under review as it changes, rather than assume they are unaffected.

Two fixable gaps
Obviam has no reviews and a generic category. The businesses above it hold 113, 365 and 28 reviews, and describe themselves as computer support, computer repair or computer security services. Obviam is filed as Business to business service with zero reviews. Reviews and primary category are two of the strongest inputs to local pack ranking, and both are inside Obviam's control.

Note the fourth result: Cequence Security ranks above Obviam with three reviews, on the category Computer security service. Category alone is doing work here.

Domain strength, measured

Backlink authority does not decide a map pack, but it does set the ceiling on organic. Here is where obviam.com sits against the businesses above it.

intrust-it.com
251  ·  458 dom
mis.tech
248  ·  392 dom
4bis.com
206  ·  275 dom
obviam.com ★
164  ·  59 dom
layercaketech.com
149  ·  54 dom
Measured, real domains
Obviam is the smallest domain in its own market. Intrust IT carries 458 referring domains against Obviam's 59, and 666 ranking keywords against 29. 4BIS and MIS Solutions are also several times larger. LayerCake is the one exception, with a similar link profile to Obviam and 3,039 ranking keywords, although the competitive strategy page shows 97% of those resolve to its homepage rather than to pages that sell.

This changes what the local work can promise. The map pack is winnable now, because it runs on category, reviews and proximity rather than domain strength. Organic parity is a longer road, and this report does not pretend otherwise.

07The finding that changes how everything else is read

This report was commissioned partly because leads appeared to be falling. The honest answer is that the question cannot currently be answered, and that is the first finding.

Read this one twice

Obviam has never been able to see a lead. Not once, in thirteen months.

0conversions recorded, any channel, any month, in thirteen months
382form submissions fired and never counted as a conversion
5,110sessions from China and Singapore, under two seconds each, sitting inside every number the business looks at
13month high for genuine US sessions, in the three most recent months

Those four numbers are the same story told twice. The traffic that left was machines, the traffic that stayed is American and growing, and no instrument on the property was configured to tell anyone either fact. Every judgement made about this website in the last year, including the one that prompted this report, was made from numbers that could not answer the question being asked of them. That is not an argument about whether leads fell. It is the reason the question is still open, and it is the first thing month one closes.

The detail: total sessions fell over the last year, but filtered to the United States they did the opposite, 34 clicks from 4,962 impressions in the 21 days Search Console holds. Form submissions were fired as ordinary events, and the parameters that would identify which form was used were never enabled, so even the 382 cannot be split into real enquiries and search box submissions. Both are fixed in week one.

08What obviam.com does rank for

Search Console, United States, brand terms excluded, covering 2026-08-06 to 2026-08-26, which is every day the property holds. The site is not invisible to Google, it is ranked far below the line where anyone clicks.

Impressions without clicks
424 non-brand queries produced 4,467 impressions and 0 clicks. Search Console names the query behind 23 of the 34 US clicks in that window, and all 23 are the company name. The other 11 fall inside queries too rare for Google to name. Nothing was won on a named term describing what the company does.

The upside in that number
Google already associates obviam.com with the right subjects. Almost all of it sits between positions 70 and 95, where nobody clicks, and the pages carrying it are blog articles rather than the pages that sell.

11Quick win shortlist

Highest advertiser bid per click, a proxy for what a lead in that term is worth, at volumes worth chasing. Every one is currently unranked, and every one is a service Obviam already delivers.

Intent, not a rival's budget
These figures are what Google estimates an advertiser would pay for the click. We then checked whether anyone in this market is actually paying it. Obviam and all four Cincinnati competitors run zero paid search keywords on Google between them. The same check against three domains that do advertise returned 541, 34 and 3, so the zero is the instrument working rather than the instrument failing. Treat a high bid here as evidence that the search is commercially valuable, and treat the paid lane as open rather than crowded.

13What is structurally broken

Eight orphaned pages

Financial services, healthcare, higher education, insurance, K-12, law firms, manufacturing and retail. Checked in the fully rendered page after JavaScript runs: no link anywhere on the site points to any of them, including from their own parent page. They are reachable only through the sitemap, have no heading, and Google reports them as discovered but not indexed.

Measurement records nothing

Thirteen months, zero conversions of any kind. The site fired 382 form submissions in that period and none was configured as a conversion. Around 55% of historic sessions came from China and Singapore and lasted under two seconds, while genuine US sessions are at their highest in thirteen months.

13bThe link Obviam already owns

One finding sits outside search entirely, because it needs a decision from the parent company rather than any work on obviam.com.

Free, and unused
momnet.com carries 500 referring domains against obviam.com's 59, and ranks for 344 US keywords against 29. It links to Obviam 2 times, both from blog posts, both with the single word Obviam as the anchor.

The Modern Office Methods homepage, services page and about page carry no link to Obviam and never use the word, while each mentions cyber twice. A link and a plain description of what Obviam sells, placed on the parent's structural pages, is the highest authority link available here that costs nothing and needs nobody's permission outside the group. It will not close the gap on its own, and links inside one company count for less than independent ones, but it is the cheapest correct thing on this list. The competitive strategy page sets it out in full.

14The locations decision

This one is not ours to make, and it shapes everything local.

Needs a decision from Obviam
Modern Office Methods operates eleven branches across Ohio and Pennsylvania. Obviam holds one Google Business Profile, in Cincinnati. The measured result is exactly what that predicts: presence in Cincinnati, nothing anywhere else.

City level demand, measured 28 August 2026 across 6 cybersecurity terms with close variants collapsed: Columbus 280/mo, Philadelphia 240, Cleveland 160, Pittsburgh 130, against Cincinnati's own 100. These are modest but real, all four are larger than the market Obviam already serves, and Pittsburgh is the stated expansion market. Each needs a real address and a verified profile before any search work can move it. The competitors running multi-market strategies, Astute Technology Management and Cyber Centaurs, are doing exactly this. We need a decision on which markets get a location.
